The Graduate Certificate in Family & Systemic Therapy is a one-year part-time specialist qualification for professionals wishing to gain an introduction to working with families.
This program is the first year of the ACU Master of Family and Systemic Therapy. Students apply to study the Master of Family and Systemic Therapy and can exit at the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma level.
The aim of the Graduate Certificate in Family and Systemic Therapy is to extend the professional knowledge and skills of helping professionals with specialised knowledge and skills in Family and Systemic Therapy to be able to better deliver family focused, family inclusive, family therapy services to clients within their area of practice. Graduates will be eligible for associate membership of the Australian Association of Family Therapy.
The prerequisite for this course is completion of the Williamsroad 4 Day Intensive: Core Ideas of Family Therapy.
This program is appropriate for psychologists, clinical social workers, and other professionals already working in family-sensitive programs, who want to acquire greater conceptual and practical competencies, or to increase knowledge and clinical confidence. The course is designed for practitioners looking to develop a depth of expertise in Systemic and Family Therapy, increase the precision and quality of their clinical or therapeutic work with complex social-relational systems.
