Service to the Community
The Williamsroad Family Therapy Centre offers low cost counselling for children, adolescents, adults, couples, relationships, and families. Our services also include Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT), child and adolescent psychological and educational assessments.
Each year, we select a small number of excellent postgraduate students to take on an internship at Williamsroad to further develop their skills in the specialized field of Systemic & Family Therapy.
Our interns are already qualified professionals in either generalist psychology, social work, medicine or another related field of mental health, and are currently developing their clinical skill while practicing under the close supervision of an experienced Systemic & Family Therapist.
The qualifications of the Low Cost clinicians vary from year to year. Typically, they include graduate psychologists who are in their 5th or 6th year of study in in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational & Developmental Psychology; Masters and PhD students in Systemic & Family Therapy; Social Workers training to specialise in Family Therapy, and postgraduates from our own Swinburne University Graduate Programs.
Flexible appointment times may be available, including morning, evening and some weekend appointments. Please contact Williamsroad reception for current clinic hours.
The Low Cost Clinic accepts self-referrals as well as referrals from health professionals and agencies. All members of the community can access our services. Counselling can be accessed independently, or alongside other services.
Fees and payment
